The Chamber is a nonprofit organization made up of businesses that are dedicated to the economic improvement of the Prairie du Chien area. It unites businesses, professional firms, community organizations and individuals into a focused-group for betterment of the Prairie du Chien area. It is not a government agency.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
All Chamber members are invited to attend our monthly Chamber lunches, Business After 5s, membership meetings/trainings, and our Annual Meeting. Chamber members have the opportunity to participate in Chamber sponsored events such as the Taste of Prairie du Chien and Home & Garden Show at a reduced rate, compared to non-members.

MEMBER REFERRALS
The Chamber is viewed as a central information source. We receive hundreds of requests each year for the names of local businesses, professionals, services, and other establishments. It is our policy to refer only Chamber members whenever possible.

INFORMATION ON DISPLAY
The Chamber provides display racks for brochures of Chamber members. Members are responsible to keep the Chamber Office supplied with a quantity of their brochures for re-stocking the racks.

GUIDE SHEETS
Guide sheets are designed, printed, and distributed to tourists upon request. They contain a listing of Chamber members in the following categories: lodging, dining, and camping. The guide sheets also appear on the Chamber’s website.

WEBSITE LISTING
Each Chamber member is listed on the Chamber’s website. A link from our website to the website of a Chamber member may be activated for a one-time fee of $40, as long as membership status is maintained.

CHAMBER NEWSLETTER
Chamber members receive a copy of the Chamber’s monthly newsletter. The newsletter helps keep members informed of upcoming events and activities that are important and of interest to the membership. Members have the opportunity to include an informational insert in the newsletter for a fee.

MARKETING
Chamber members have the opportunity to participate in cooperative advertising packages negotiated through the Tourism Council. Special off-season packages are also promoted by the Tourism Council to encourage visitors to the Prairie du Chien area during the winter months. A Prairie du Chien Area brochure is produced each year through the Tourism Council, with 50,000 copies printed and distributed throughout the year. Chamber members have an opportunity to place advertising in the publication.

"WELCOME" BAG
New residents to the Prairie du Chien community receive a postcard from the Chamber inviting them to come into the office and pick up a cloth bag, which contains “Welcome” items provided by Chamber members. Chamber members have the option to place their logo on the outside of the cloth bag when a new supply is ordered. The "Welcome Bag" is an opportunity for new residents to become acquainted with Chamber member businesses.

CHAMBER DOLLARS
Chamber Dollars are only redeemable at Chamber member businesses. A “Chamber Dollar” blue placard is displayed near cash registers to help customers identify the business as a recipient of Chamber Dollars. Chamber members, also, receive a membership decal to place on their door or window for visible membership recognition. Thousands of dollars worth of Chamber Dollars are issued at the Chamber office each year for purposes such as prizes, gifts, employee recognition, and business incentives.
